Jennifer Lopez launching DancePad app with CAA agency

Jennifer Lopez has jumped into the app gaming craze, joining forces with mega Hollywood agency CAA and telecommunications giant Qualcomm. The app she helped create is called DancePad and allows players to dance with their fingers.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the game is being developed by Moonshark, which was founded by CAA and Qualcomm as Creative Mobile Labs in 2011. Moonshark CEO Matt Kozlov told THR that the plan is for Moonshark to develop the creative end of the apps with CAAs massive talent pool and hire outside developers to create its apps.

The Wrap reports that Lopezs game is the first from Moonshark and is available starting Thursday. CAA handles Lopezs touring business.

We focus on creating really cutting edge, creative mobile games, Kozlov told The Wrap. Our philosophy is that by working with Hollywood talent really creative, really artistic people we can build a large fan base in different fields.

Two games for the future are already in development, including one from director John Woo and his Tiger Hill Entertainment production company, which will launch later in the year. The second app is a collaboration with YouTube star Phil DeFranco.

DancePad will be available for $2.99, although a demo version with the first 20 levels will be available for free. Mayer Hawthorne, Vintage Trouble and the Bangerz are featured on the games soundtrack.

Earlier this week, Lopez announced that she will release her first greatest hits collection, Dance Again...The Hits, next month. The album will include two previously unreleased tracks.
