Jennifer Lopez world tour wardrobe: Designer Zuhair Murad unveils outfit sketches

She has been stuck behind a desk on American Idol so it makes sense that J-Lo is turning up the glam in preparation for her forthcoming world tour.

Sketches from Jennifer Lopez's tour wardrobe have been unveiled, revealing two sizzling hot ensembles.

The scarlet red looks, created by Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad, will be worn by the 42-year-old mega star when her tour commences in South America on Friday.

Although the Beirut-based designer's involvement in the production is no surprise, given how often the singer is seen on the red carpet in his creations, the outfits themselves will no doubt prove show-stopping.

In two before-and-after sketches, an elaborate red robe has been depicted over the top of a shimmering dress.

Tied at the! waist w ith a giant bow, turning the brunette bombshell into an extremely stylish Christmas present, the robe drapes over her shoulders and then trails out.

Judging by the manner in which it sweeps out behind her, one can expect ample wind machines during the show which is due to hit the U.S. on July 14.

A red microphone is also seen in the singer's hand while her long brown locks have been slightly waved in typical J-Lo style.

Another image shows the dress on its own.

The second sketch shows a minidress that WWD claims is stitched with 'thousands of red beads hand-sewn onto nude silk tulle' in a flame pattern.

Other pieces in the collection will include a feathered skirt and hat as well as a jumpsuit and cape.

A bodysuit is also in the works as are further short frocks.

The designer has created six looks in total for mother-of-two's world tour.

Her love affair with Mr Murad began in 2011 when she wore a strapless design of his to the 2011 Met Ball in New York.

The gown, which featured a sweetheart neckline, was also stitched with sparkling embellishment.

She wore further creations of his during episodes of American Idol as well as the Oscars in February.

Mr Murad claimed: 'She keeps that first dress [the Met Ball gown] in the front of her closet.'

He will show his couture collection and an accessories collection in Paris at Haute Couture Fashion Week in July.

But his creations have already earned him praise elsewhere in the celebrity world.

Florence Welch, the lead singer of Florence And The Machine, was seen in one of his gowns at the 2010 Brit Awards while Cheryl Cole wore his designs when she was a fixture on the reality show X Factor.

Even the royals are proven fans of his work.

Princess al-Taweel of Saudi Arabia wore one of his designs to the wedding of the Duke and Duchess Of Cambridge in April of last year.
