We met Jennifer Lopez in a lift... and just stared at her bum

THE eyes of America are on The Saturdays after their new reality TV show launched in the US and made them overnight stars.

But instead of basking in their new status as US celebs, the starstruck Brits cant keep their eyes off the curvy local talent.

The girls new show Chasing The Saturdays debuted in the US last month on showbiz network E! which turned Kim Kardashian into a global superstar.

It charts their bid to crack the US, like their British pop pals One Direction.

During their stint in LA, the girls Rochelle Humes, Una Healy, Vanessa White, Mollie King and Frankie Sandford have performed at a Golden Globes party in front of new A-list fans Anne Hathaway and Hugh Jackman, been on the nations biggest chat shows and recorded new music with some of the biggest names in pop.

But the highlight of their American adventure? Seeing Jennifer Lopezs bum.

Earlier this month they mixed with the showbiz elite at the Golden Globes in the Beverly Hilton hotel, before playing an afterparty hosted by US TV network NBC.

Gorgeous Mollie, recalling their encounter with J-Lo, revealed: It was surreal. We saw her coming out of the lift. I missed her face but saw her bottom.

I asked Una, What was her face like? How much make-up was she wearing? Una said, I dont know, I just couldnt stop staring at the bottom.

We were like dudes checking her out. We were rabbiting away then she came out of the lift and we all went silent. Ive never heard us so quiet.

Bandmate Una agreed: As she walked away you were completely drawn to her bottom.

The Sun met The Saturdays at a Sunset Strip hotel ahead of the US debut of their show, which E! also launched in the UK on Sunday night.

They were buzzing after appearing on Jay Lenos iconic Tonight Show but remained ! endearingly humble.

Hot on the heels of their J-Lo moment, they were excited after meeting another big-bottomed star, Nicki Minaj, who was also on Lenos show.

Una said: She was dressed all in pink and watching me from the side of the stage it was making me nervous.

Frankie confessed they were struggling to get used to life among the Hollywood glitterati.

She said: We all had our nails done for the Golden Globes in the spa at the hotel and went back upstairs wearing paper flip-flops they gave us and our tracksuits.

We were walking past these stars in ballgowns and I was like: What are we doing here? Were imposters!

The girls Golden Globes show later that evening was watched by Les Miserables stars Anne and Hugh as well as Scottish actor Ewan McGregor and rapper 50 Cent.

Rochelle said: It was the most star-studded audience we have ever played to. It was the A-list of A-lists.

But we didnt know they were all watching until we got off stage, thank God.

Its been a rapid rise for the girls in the US.

Vanessa admitted they feared their first headline gig, at The Roxy Theatre on Sunset Strip in October, would be a flop.

She said: We didnt think anybody knew us here. We thought no one would turn up we didnt even have friends and family there.

But it was sold out.

And then there were fans waiting for us after we performed on the Jay Leno show. We thought they must be waiting for Nicki Minaj, who was also on the show but it was for us.

The girls have also received the seal of approval from showbiz veteran Joan Rivers after appearing on her US show.

Mollie said: Joan was amazing we ended up talking about periods!

She said, I hope I get to interview you girls for the next ten years before I die. ! What a gr! eat honour.

The Saturdays

Starstruck ... The Saturdays are taking nothing for granted

But they have found it hard to watch their warts-and-all TV show, which follows their lives in LA for three months.

Mollie, the blondest and poshest of The Saturdays, is the only single member of the band and on the show, she denies rumours she has been dating Prince Harry.

She says: Im single and ready to mingle.

Im not going out with him Im serious.

Everyone wants to believe it because hes royalty. But hes very out of my league.

Vanessa, the youngest band member, is portrayed as the groups party animal, with the show capturing her boozy antics.

Una is married to England rugby star Ben Foden and they have ten-month-old daughter Aoife.

Cameras caught her anguish as she had to temporarily leave her young family to chase her US pop dream.

Rochelle married to JLS star Marvin Humes discovered she was pregnant with their first child while filming the show.

And one episode shows Frankie who has admitted battling depression suffering a panic attack.

She screams: I feel like I cant even do my job anymore.

The singer, dating ex-England footballer Wayne Bridge, admitted: I keep seeing the advert on television. Its hard. Ive only been able to watch two episodes.

Una admitted: I cant understand how anyone will find us interesting its just us.

But lots of people want to be pop stars so it will show what life is like in a pop group, how we have bad days and get upset.

Yet I think our friendship shines through.

Mollie said: When we sat in the first meeting with E! pitching the idea of the show, we told them we were like a family and really got on.

I think thats what people want to see not five girls bitching.

They followed us for three months and were surprised how close we were. ! Its us ag! ainst the world, not against each other.

Following the incredible success of One Direction in the US, Americans want a female version of that story.

Despite most of the girls being in relationships, US pop fanatics are also desperate for a sniff of romance between the two bands.

Frankie said: We love One Direction but they are like little brothers. You see girls screaming at them and it feels a bit weird. I think were a little bit old for them.

They admit there are drawbacks when you hit the level of global fame achieved by their One Direction pal Harry Styles, whose relationship with US superstar Taylor Swift was headline news.

Frankie said: We knew every step of their relationship, every holiday they went on. That put pressure on them.

When you are that age you do have relationships that dont last, a month is a big romance.

But I thought, Good for them, they are having fun and enjoying it.

Sister act ... The Saturdays say their close friendship attracted E!

The girls have also seen another of their Brit pop pals, Max George from The Wanted, make headlines in the US for his rumoured romance with Hollywood wildchild Lindsay Lohan although he has since denied it.

Rochelle said: Lindsays a bit of a party animal and they love a night out shes probably loving it.

Another highlight for the girls was recording their first single in America What About Us with rapper Sean Paul.

Mollie said: I didnt know what he was going to be like but he turned out to be a real gent. I thought he might be a bit more gangster.

He was rapping on part of the song and I didnt know what to do. Peace signs? Gangster hand gestures? I did one at one point but it didnt make the cut unsurprisingly.

But their time in the States hasnt all been about dreams coming true a few have been s! hattered ! too.

The girls recently ate at a fancy restaurant and were sitting right next to their teenage crush Mario Lopez who played AC Slater in Nineties hit TV show Saved By The Bell.

But Mollie admitted: He tucked his napkin into his shirt like a bib I wasnt into that!
