Jennifer Lopez on boyfriend Casper Smart: He's a good egg

Jennifer Lopez has previously remained mum on her blossoming relationship with 24-year-old back up dancer Casper Smart, but has finally offered a glimpse into the relationship.

"He's adorable. But you already see that," Lopez told Vogue magazine for their April cover story. "He's a good egg. I don't want to talk about it too much. It's my private thing."

Of the 18-year age difference, Lopez told the magazine, "I don't feel older, and I don't feel like I look it, either, so I am just acting the same way I have always acted."

In late November 2011, the 42-year-old singer and Smart spent a romantic Thanksgiving holiday together in Hawaii, solidifying the rumors that they were dating. They have since appeared together on the set of Lopez's hosting gig at "American Idol," at Carnival in Brazil and at a fashion shoot in Miami.

Lopez and Anthony, her husband of seven years announced in July that they were breaking up, but they did not specify a reason for the split. The two married in June 2004 and their twin son and daughter, Max and Emme, were born in February 2008.

"For the mos! t part, I feel very proud of the way we're handling it. I really do. We are doing the best we can for the kids," Lopez told Vogue of the divorce. "It's very dignified and trying to be above all the emotions and pain that come along with a divorce and a family breaking apart. This is grown-up stuff. It's real, serious, grown-up stuff."

The former couple's new reality talent show, "Q'Viva: The Chosen" premiered on January 28 on Univision. An English version of the show is set to air on Fox later this year.

The Vogue piece also included insights from Lopez's longtime manager Benny Medina, who candidly told the fashion magazine, "She's not oblivious to her own reality right now, as in, 'Damn, I'm 42 with a 24-year-old. Why?'"

Medina also voiced his concern in Lopez's relationship choices, telling vogue, "The thing that I always sort of wished is that she would give herself time to just naturally meet someone, instead of having nearly obsessive guys pursue her. The ease with which that obsession becomes a relationship I think sometimes works against her ability to have a real meaningful relationship."

The self-proclaimed "mushy romantic" has had her share of heartbreak after three divorces, but Lopez seems to have finally realized that she needs to come first in a relationship.

"If you don't love yourself, you can't love anybody else," Lopez said. "And I think as women we really forget that. All we want is to be happy, to feel secure, to feel understood," she explains. "But you can't look for somebody else to do that for you. You think about it. . . . Oh, yeah, of course I care about myself. Of course I have good self-esteem. But when you really take a good look, you are not treating yourself like someone who does. And when you let peo! ple trea t you in a way that you don't want to be treated, it's not their fault. It's yours."

Lopez will next appear in "What to Expect When You're Expecting," a romantic comedy about the lives of five couples set to become parents, which is set to be released on May 18. The movie also stars Elizabeth Banks, Chace Crawford, Chris Rock, Anna Kendrick, Dennis Quaid, Brooklyn Decker, Matthew Morrison and Megan Mullally.
