The former American Idol judge's romance with the dancer has been reported to be on the rocks for the last couple of months after photos emerged of Casper supposedly entering a gay peep show in New York.
Sources now say Casper, 25, is keen to start his own family with 43-year-old Jennifer as he believes it will prove he is serious about her.
"Jennifer is a true romantic and wants to get married again and possibly have another baby, and Casper is playing that," a source told Star magazine.
"He thinks that offering to have a baby with Jennifer will show her he's serious about a future with her, as she has actually questioned if he is indeed gay."
Jennifer is already mother to four-year-old twins Max and Emme, whom she shares with ex-husband Marc Anthony.
The singer began dating Casper just a few months after splitting from Marc last July.
