Jennifer Lopez has been named a co-owner of NuvoTV, an English-language network that targets Hispanic viewers in the US.

Lopez and her production company, Nuyorican Productions, will take an active role in the network, providing programming, assisting with marketing and strategy, reports Bloomberg. The former American Idol judge will receive a minority stake in the eight-year-old network in exchange. Other financial terms were not revealed.

Im going to be a creative executive and part owner who will be very involved with every aspect of the network, Lopez, 43, told Bloomberg. Development, production, marketing, Ill be involved on every side of it so we hit all the right points.

Chief Executive Officer Michael Schwimmer told the site that Lopez wants to be helpful, to grow the business...She is coming in as a business partner. To the extent she can be helpful growing distribution or advertising relationships, she will chip in where appropriate.

USA Today reports that NuvoTV is available in 30 million homes now and faces increased competition from Telemundo's mun2 and ABC News and Univisions upcoming news network. Fox also recently launched MundoFox.

Lopez said that the new programs will include a mix of scripted and reality shows and movies. One project in development is a program about her recent tour with Enrique Iglesias. If you took B! ET and H BO and kind of mixed them together and made them Latino, that is where I hope to bring us in the next couple years, she said.

Last month, Lopezs The Fosters was greenlit by ABC Family. Lopez will be an executive producer on the series, which was created by Bradley Bredeweg and Peter Paige.
