Maid of dishonor!

Jennifer Lopez is speaking out against tabloid reports that claim she got a hotel cleaning lady fired for requesting an autograph, saying the story is untrue and "hurtful."

The maid in question, Pray Dodaj, told German newspaper Bild that she was recently dismissed from her job at the Melia Dusseldorf after she approached the singer's room to ask for a signature.

"I am an incredibly big fan so I took all my courage and rang the bell to get an autograph," Dodaj alleged, adding that she was turned away by two of the star's assistants.

"A day later the cleaning compa! ny that employed me at the hotel called and said that Ms. Lopez had complained," she continued. "I was fired right there on the phone. Because of an autograph."

Not so, says the former American Idol judge, 43, who played a hotel housekeeper in the 2002 romantic comedy Maid in Manhattan.

"C'mon, thought you knew me better than this," Lopez tweeted to her fans early Wednesday morning. "Would never get anyone fired over an autograph."
