UAE- Jennifer Lopez captivates

(MENAFN - Khaleej Times) Latina pop princess Jennifer Lopez gave 14,000 UAE fans a show on Thursday night that included everything from a mock boxing fight to a New York street party.

The singer-actress' concert in Dubai Media City Amphitheatre rarely had time to catch its breath, save for a mellow acoustic segment two-thirds in, during which she performed her 1999 debut hit If You Had My Love. Joined onstage by a raft of dancers that included her 25-year-old boyfriend Casper Smart, J-Lo displayed tremendous energy and athleticism throughout the two-hour show - which raced off the blocks with Get Right and Love Don't Cost a Thing.

Regularly heading into the audience to greet fans and accept everything from flowers to a Lebanese flag, the 43-year-old ex-American Idol judge was all smiles for her first ever visit to the city. And having returned to the stage mid-show after one of her numerous costume changes, this time stepping into a colourful urban get-up, Lopez insisted to the capacity crowd she was "just a simple girl from The Bronx" before performing I'm Real (featuring rapper Ludacris on the big screen) and Jenny from the Block.

Closing the concert with On the Floor, the performer's biggest hit in recent years, she returned to the stage for a one-song encore with Dance Again - also the name of her current world tour, which continues its Asian leg with a show in Shanghai this evening.
