Jennifer Lopez to perform at IPL6 inaugural show

KOLKATA: The city is gearing up to witness a gala opening ceremony for IPL 6, as Jennifer Lopez is likely to be the star focus at Salt lake stadium.

Along with J'Lo there will be Bollywood stars Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra who all will perform at inaugural programme to be held at the Salt Lake Yuva Bharati Stadium on April 2.

The opening show will be major attraction as stars from Hollywood and Bollywood wou be there, Bengal sports minister Madan Mitra said on Thursday. He said that Lopez is going to be present at the opening ceremony and will be the show stopper. The inaugural show will go on in between 6 pm to 8 pm on April 2.

The inaugural show is going to be organised by Shah Rukh Khan's firm Red Chillies Entertainment, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) were the winners in 2012 beating Chennai Super Kings. After the finals, Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee had hosted a civic reception for the KKR team at Eden Gardens..

Mitra said that there was no problem in allowing the stadium to host the function, as no match is scheduled before and after the show.

Mitra said, "The inaugural ceremony of the IPL 2013 will be one of the most spectacular events that the people in Bengal have ever witnessed." Mitra held a meeting on Thursday with senior police officers and sports administrators about hosting the inaugural show.
