American Idol: Jennifer Lopez Rescues Jessica Sanchez From Shocking Elimination

Jessica Sanchez nearly got Jennifer Hudson'd -- but J Lo was having none of it.

On Thursday's elimination episode of American Idol, viewer votes placed frontrunner Sanchez in the bottom three alongside fellow favorite Joshua Ledet plus Elise Testone.

Judges Lopez, 42, Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler were outraged. "This is a ridiculous bottom three," Jackson ranted. "So wrong!"

Sanchez, who actually garnered the least amount of votes, bravely took the stage to croon her last-chance song when Lopez, in dramatic fashion, stormed the stage with Tyler and Jackson. "Gimme that mic!" the star, stunning in a tight tangerine dress, shouted. ""This is crazy. You ain't going home! Go sit down."

The judges then announced that Sanchez (who made her mark early on in the competition with a stirring rendition of Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You") was saved. "This girl is one of the best singers in America ever!" Jackson said.

Thus, with no one going home Thursday, the final seven move on to compete for another week: Sanchez, Ledet, Testone, Hollie Cavanagh, Phillip Phillipsd, Skylar Laine and Colton Dixon.
