Jennifer Lopez, Enrique Iglesias Announce Summer Tour

Enrique Iglesias and Jennifer Lopez, two Latin pop stars undergoing impressive career revivals, have joined forces to co-headline a summer tour. The initial 16 dates of the North America trek were announced on Monday (Apr. 30), with more dates to be announced soon.

Earlier this month, Billboard.com reported that Iglesias and Lopez were "in discussions" to team up for a summer tour. Wisin Y Yandel will open for Lopez and Iglesias on the tour, which will be promoted by AEG Live and presented by State Farm; tickets will go on sale this Friday.

For Lopez, the tour will follow her second year as a judge on "American Idol" as well as the release of her seventh studio album, "Love?," in 2011. After scoring a monster hit alongside Pitbull with "On The Floor," Lopez teamed up with the rapper again on the recent single "Dance Again," which may or may not be included on a forthcoming greatest hits release.

Meanwhile, Iglesias was supposed to team up with Britney Spears for a tour last summer, but after the joint run failed to materialize, the singer brought Pitbull and Prince Royce on the road for a fall U.S. trek. The Euphoria Tour grossed more than $7.2 million in its final nine dates, including $1.3 million at New York's Madison Square Garden on Nov. 4, according to Billboard Boxscore.

"I'm so excited to be spending this summer out on the road. There is no better feeling than being out on stage in front of all my fans," says Igles! ias in a statement.

Before the tour kicks off on July 14 in Montreal, Latin urban duo Wisin Y Yandel will release a new album, "Lideres," in June. Lopez will be a featured vocalist on the album, along with Chris Brown and T-Pain.
