It seems that assuming things still can lead to any number of misjudgements, the latest being around the departure of Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler from American Idol.
It was assumed by many, both inside and outside the business, that the pair had decided not to renew their contract for a new season having had enough publicity from the show and wanting to move on to other projects, but it seems that the truth is that they were actually fired.
Sources from the have confirmed that both musicians were sacked from the show, with Lopezs attempt to negotiate a higher paycheck failing and Tyler not even being given the option of taking part in the new series of the show.
Remaining judge Randy Jackson said, Steven and Jennifer are truly two of the most talented and consummate professionals I've worked with. I was friends with them before we hopped on this crazy journey together and I have no doubt our friendships will continue long after. I will love them for life."
Well, Randy could well be soon able to keep his friendship going outside the show as it was also revealed that two Fox Network execs also want rid of him in a big shakeup for the show.
However, with other reports suggesting the talent search has also had its budget cut for the new run, many are now speculating whether the show will even make it to the screen, or will it finally come to its end?
