Jennifer Lopez Struts and Sings at Mohegan Sun Saturday

Maybe she thought she might overstay her welcome: Jennifer Lopez dispensed with her performance in a brisk 70 minutes Saturday at Mohegan Sun, which probably wasnt the value you were looking for if youd shelled out the top ticket price of $125 to see her.

Lopez, the singer, actress and American Idol judge, need not have worried about taxing the patience of the capacity crowd inside Mohegan Sun Arena as part of the casinos 15th anniversary celebration: they were hers for keeps, cheering her every move, outfit and song choice.

She was certainly efficient, cramming pyrotechnics, a killer live band, hunky male dancers and unexpected guest appearances into her show, which she split between dance-heavy songs at the start and more lovey numbers at the end.Flanked by a phalanx of six chiseled dancers, Lopez moved her way through My Love Dont Cost a Thing early on, and basked in applause and the steady pop of flashbulbs that emphasized her glittery bodysuit before starting Waiting For Tonight, green lasers sweeping across the arena ceiling as her dancers whirled around her.

All that dancing came at the expense of live vocals, and Lopez mostly lip-synced her way through the early part of the show, or, at the very least, sang along with recorded backing tracks.

Remember her hip-hop phase, when it seemed like every single Lopez released featured a rapper? She certainly did, and after a costume change (from the glittery bodysuit into a hot-pants ensemble), she slotted in what amounted to a medley of her rap jams, featuring surprise appearances by a slimmed-down Fat Joe on Feelin So Good and Styles P and Jadakiss on Jenny From the Block.

After Fat Joe filled in with his own Lean Back during another costume change, into an artfully desiccated dress like something out of M! iss Havi shams spring collection, Lopez shifted her focus to love. On a blue-lit stage wreathed in dry-ice smoke, she sang (live, this time) an acoustic version of her first No. 1 single, If You Had My Love, followed by One Love, from her latest album, Love?

Having adequately expressed her love of love, Lopez changed once more, to a short, sparkly black dress, and began a grand finale that spanned three songs full of pyrotechnics, streamers arcing into the crowd and blasts of confetti. Lets Get Loud had a Latin rhythm and brassy bursts from the horn section, while Papi was mostly a showcase for her dancers over a pulsing electro beat.

Lopez finished the show with another dance-heavy track, On the Floor, with a video contribution from Pitbull.
