No question about it, that romance between Jennifer Lopez and her backup dancer-toy boy Casper Smart is heating up to the sizzling level.

A source who watched the couple up close in Kauai over the Thanksgiving holiday reported, They are definitely a couple and a very touchy-feely one at that! They could barely keep their hands off each other.

The BZ spy added that Smart appeared to be very attentive toward J-Los twins, looking very paternal toward them. . It was sweet to see him with them on the beach.

A bit more embarrassing is the revelation first reported by thesmokinggun.com that Lopezs new TV commercial for Fiat is a bit disingenuous. In it, Lopez voices a soundtrack that touts her need to go back to her original roots in New York. In fact, the only scenes of Lopez seen driving in the ad where shot in L.A.

So much for Jenny from the Block.

NEAR MISS: Apparently, ex-spouses Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston came thisclose to running into each other in L.A. last week reportedly what would have been the former couples first face-to-face meeting since their divorce in 2005.

Moments after Aniston and current beau Justin Theroux walked into the ArcLight movie multiplex in Hollywood, Pitt joined by a few of his brood with Angelina Jolie exited.

You can imagine how many Tinseltown paparazzi are drooling over the thought of that missed photo op!

LOVEY DOVEY? Friends! of Eva Longoria say there just may be something going on with the actress and the Lakers Matt Barnes despite all the were just good friends claims by spokesfolks for both the actress and the pro hoopster.

Penelope Cruz reportedly is a bit irked that Longoria may be two-timing her brother, Eduardo whom Cruz fixed up with the Desperate Housewives star in the first place.

MORE MAGGIE: So much has been written already and justifiably so about the immeasurable contributions Maggie Daley made to our city. But the first thing that comes to mind, as I remember all that Maggie accomplished, was something she did for two people close to me.

Like her, both women were battling advanced stages of cancer, but when I told Maggie how inspired they were by her positive approach to her own struggle, she merely said, Get me their numbers. I want to talk to them.

Not only did she indeed call them both, she did so multiple times, and at a point when her own health was rapidly failing. According to both my friends, Maggies calls were a combination of cheerful inspiration, the sharing of medical information and specific questions about their own treatment.

I couldnt believe she took the time to do that, said one friend, who asked me to share the story but not her identity.

Ive learned from numerous people over the past few days that my experience was far from unique. Maggie Daley was constantly reaching out to help others, wherever and whenever she could.

So, it was indeed appropriate for that quote from Margaret Mead to be reprinted on the mass card distributed at the wake Sunday:

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world; indeed it is the only thing that ever has.

IN THE PINK! Congrats to my Fox TV colleague Anna Davlantes and her husband, David Gamperl, on the arrival of their first child a baby daughter born Saturday night.

Also happily celebrating the arrival of a baby girl is singer Lily Allen and her husband, Sam Cooper.

SEEN ON THE SCENE: Mayor Emanuel was spied lunching one-on-one with state Rep. John DAmico at Club Lago the other day. Hizzoner and first lady Amy Rule also were among the audience for the Chicago Symphony Orchestras Friday Night at the Movies series where a film is screened and the CSO performs the soundtrack live. The Thanksgiving weekends offering marked the 50th anniversary of the release of West Side Story, a bit poignant given the recent reopening of star Natalie Woods death investigation. Among the holiday weekend sightings was the Lions Ndamukong Suh at Studio Paris right after his dirty play ejection from the Turkey Day game against the Packers joining Bears buddy Amobi Okoye.
