Jennifer Lopez and Other Singers Who Have Dated Backup Dancers

Looks like there is no chance that J.Lo will reunite with estranged husband Marc Anthony.

Jennifer Lopez has wasted very little time finding a new man since her split from her husband, Marc Anthony! The "American Idol" judge has been spotted out and about with backup dancer, Casper Smart, and apparently, they have been dating for a few weeks. While it's great to see Jen so happy, there have been many other stars who have dated dancers, and things haven't ended well for any of them! Hopefully, J-Lo will have better luck, but here are three other celebrities who have been in relationships with backing dancers.

Britney Spears

Spears is one of the people who is most well-known for having married a dancer. She met Kevin Federline shortly after he ended his relationship with actress, Shar Jackson, and the couple was engaged within three months of meeting! They married in 2004 and have two children together, but their union didn't last very long. Two years later, Britney filed for divorce due to irreconcilable differences.

Christina Aguilera

In her younger years, the "Burlesque" actress got into a two year relationship with one of her backing dancers, Jorge Santos. Aguilera later confessed that he was her first love, and she had a hard time after their break-up in 2001. The reasons for their split are unknown, but it's ! clear th at they weren't meant to spend an eternity "Dirrty" dancing!

Melanie B

Former Spice Girl, Melanie Brown is another singer who couldn't make it work with a backing dancer. After marrying Jimmy Gulzar, it was just two years before they were heading for divorce. Again, the true details of their break-up are a little hazy, with the strangest speculation being that Mel's breast implants were to blame! Mel and Jimmy have a daughter together, and so the drama still continues to this day. Earlier this month, Gulzar refused to let their 12-year-old go home with Brown's new husband, Stephen Belafonte, forcing him to call the police.

Judging by these stars, it looks like the average shelf life for a relationship with a dancer is two years. Perhaps Lopez will be luckier with hers than her fellow singers were with theirs!
