Jennifer Lopez, Chelsea Handler and Laura Bush honored at Glamour Women of the Year Awards

Actor/singer Jennifer Lopez, Chelsea Lately host Chelsea Handler and former First Lady Laura Bush were honored Monday night at the 21st annual Glamour Women of the Year Awards in New York. The show honors women who have made major impacts in all corners of society around the world, including entertainment, politics and fashion.

Bush, who was accompanied by daughters Barbara and Jenna, received her award from former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. "They are giving a voice to women who otherwise might not have one. They personify the belief that every woman's life has potential, Rice said of Bush and her daughters, according to Extra.

Jennifer Lopez stole the show, though, showing up in an Atelier Versace gown with a striking thigh-high slit. During her speech, Lopez was visibly shaky, saying We all felt a little overwhelmed tonight, Us Weekly reported. In her speech, she said that it was the women in her life that help her get through the tough times, which includes her recent separation from ex-husband Marc Anthony. My grandmother, who taught me to cook and not be afraid to serve and be humble. And to go out looking nice because people like that and then they respect you, she added.

Lopez received the All-Star award, according to Contact Music. Handler was given the Queen of Late Night award, while Glees Lea Michele was handed the The Diva Next Door prize in recognition for making a difference in the world as a young woman. Jennifer Aniston, TheHuffingtonPost.com founder Arianna Huffington and fem! inist Gl oria Steinem were also honored.
