Jennifer Lopez tops
Forbes' Celebrity 100 list

"American Idol" clearly has been very, very good to Jennifer Lopez. So good, in fact, that she topped this year's Forbes Celebrity 100 list, capping a very impressive comeback from the brink of "remember her?"

The Forbes' list measures money earned -- for Lopez, it was $52 million in 2011 -- and fame, which includes media visibility in print, television, radio and online, plus social media power.

Before becoming a judge on "Idol" -- a gig that's paying her $20 million this year, and that, by all reports, she intends to leave when the current season ends -- Lopez's music career was foundering, and her movies (anyone remember "El Cantante?") were bombing.

But "Idol" put her in the national spotlight, and she's added enough endorsement deals (L'Oreal, Gillette) to knock Lady Gaga out of the top spot on the list. Gaga, in fact, fell to No. 5.

When it comes to simply earnings, nobody tops No. 2 Oprah Winfrey, who brought in $165 million despite her own show ending.

Justin Bieber, who earned $55 million last year, finished third, one spot ahead of Rihanna. And, for those wondering about the Kardashians, Kim ranks No. 7 and Khloe is No. 73.

Joshua Ledet 'relieved'
by elimination on 'Idol'

Speaking of "American Idol," Joshua Ledet was eliminated Thursday night as the field for the finals was set and admitted "I'm not gonna say I was surprised."

"Phillip (Phillips) and Jessica (Sanchez) are great, and they have huge fan bases," Ledet told People. "They deserve it just like anyone else.

"I was super excited for Phillip and Jessica. I felt relieved. A lot of pressure was off of me, and I feel really good."

Ledet isn't sure what's next, but said judge Jennifer Lopez "told me to keep my head up and my career was only going to go further from here."

Van Halen 'burned out,'
cancels 31 tour dates

Van Halen has canceled 31 dates on its current tour -- pretty much every stop after New Orleans on June 26, but band members insist it's not because Eddie Van Halen and David Lee Roth are feuding.

Instead, it's something a little more basic. They're getting old (well, oldish: both are 57).

"They're simply burned out," a source told TMZ.com, and want to take some time off to "recharge their engines."

Jackie Chan says current
film is his last action movie

In more aging news, 58-year-old Jackie Chan is through with action movies, vowing that "Chinese Zodiac," which he produced, directed, wrote and co-stars in, is the last one.

"They say 'no, you're still young, you can still do it,' but I have to stop one day," ! he said< /a>.

That doesn't mean he's done with all types of films though, saying he hopes to model the next part of his career after Robert De Niro and Clint Eastwood.
