Jennifer Lopez will perform her new single during the American Idol finale on Wednesday, it has been claimed.

The 42-year-old panellist will take to the stage to play her new track 'Follow The Leader', according to reports.

A source told Radar Online: "She'll be performing her new single 'Follow the Leader'. She's been working hard for months on this. She's super excited to perform it."

Lopez wrote the song with Swedish producers Jonas Saeed, Niclas Kings, Bloodline, Wisin Y and Yandle, who have previously worked with Nicole Scherzinger and Kylie Minogue.

Saeed said: "I am so blessed to have been working with Jennifer. She sounds amazing on the song and her performance will be out of this world."

He added: "She was super easy to work with. She really took her vocal performance to the next level. I'm so impressed!"

The performance could prove to be her Idol swansong, as she may not be returning as a judge next season due to her busy schedule.
