Jennifer Lopez divorce - 'My whole life had fallen apart'

Jennifer Lopez says she felt like her "whole life had fallen apart" when she split from ex-husband Marc Anthony.

The 43-year-old singer - who is dating her back-up dancer Casper Smart - found it "very difficult" to get out of bed each morning after Marc filed for divorce in April 2012 following their seven-year marriage.

She said: "It was very hard to get up in the morning. Very hard. When you're depressed and sad all the time it's very difficult.

"I felt like my whole life had fallen apart. What I had known for seven or eight years with my children and everything, it was just ... boom! An explosion!"

Following their split, Lopez - who has four-year-old twins Max and Emme with the singer - went straight into filming action movie Parker with Jason Statham, and while she admits it was a "very disappointing" time in her personal life, she was able to show her real emotions in the film.

She explained: "It was very personal and very disappointing but actually great for the movie because the character was very much like that as well.

"So I could use all those feelings and ! all that sadness.

"I am just one of those people who doesn't give up and I know if you just hang on you will live and you will love again.

"You have to hold on, it's going to happen again, it's going to be OK.

"Things are hard and I feel like we grow and we learn the most in those moments and trust me, I had to remind myself of this all the time."

Lopez reportedly had a secret meeting with her ex-husband earlier this week at his New York hotel.

A source told the New York Post's Page Six that the 43-year-old beauty spent two and a half hours with the Latin singer at 'The Mark' hotel, who was later seen emerging with his head down in a bid to go unnoticed.

The eyewitness said: "He came out really quickly, with his head down, like he didn't want to be seen."

Jennifer, dressed in thigh-high stiletto boots and a leopard-print mini-dress, left shortly afterwards with a huge smile on her face.

They have always insisted they remain on good terms and even continued to work together on their Latin TV star search, 'Q'Viva! The Chosen' in the months after their split.
